Hello all,

Finally bought my first Mini which is a 65 Deluxe :)
My problem is I am trying to get a RWC but need to locate the chassis/VIN number, can anyone assist? Tried googling and searching on the forums but can't find anything.

Thanks

There should be a plate on the firewall on the drivers side and a number on the radiator shield.

I found the firewall plate and also found the chassis number behind the radiator. Took awhile for me to spot the radiator one!

The chassis number on the paperwork is M251105, however on the on the chassis itself it is M2511, missing the last two numbers.

Sorry, I am very new to the mini world.

The car number for a 65 Deluxe is stamped on the firewall near the master cylinders. It will be a four or five digit number with no letters. The ID plate on the firewall has the full car number with prefix as well as the engine number and body colour. It should be something like YMA2S2*****.

The number on the radiator shroud panel is the body number. It is not supposed to be used for rego, they are supposed to use the car number.

For a '65 model, I believe the car no which is stamped on the firewall behind the clutch/brake m/cyl should be used, not the body no which is stamped on the radiator shroud. These no.s are normally about 500 different.

Thanks heaps guys! :)
