Id just like to compare rego costs throughout the other states.

My rego has come up for renewal, and i dont need to go over the pits, or front up to the Queensland Transport to pay it, i can just renew it over the phone or at the post office.

Only issue this year on July 1st Anna Bligh and her cronies have decided to increase the price by more than 20%. More than was recommended to her by several motoring bodies.

Last year it cost me around $430 all up including CTP. This year, $178 for CTP, $50 odd for road improvement fees (WTF are they, isnt that why we pay taxes), and the rest in rego totalling $650.

What are the other states like, becuase being in SA now, im thinking ill register it here.

Last time I paid rego on my motorcycle it was $687 for 12 month renewal. This includes the $50.00 tax for the "Motorcycle Road Safey Initiative" which to me is a croc.

My Morris 1100 costs...
Registration Fee = $52.00
Motor Vehicle Tax = $166.00 (this is based on weight so a Mini would be cheaper)
CTP Insurance (green slip) = $321.79
e-Safety Check Report (pink slip) = $31.70
Total = $571.49

Wifes Ford Telstar just as an example...
Registration Fee = $52.00
Motor Vehicle Tax = $187.00
CTP Insurance (green slip) = $279.09 (I don't know why her car is cheaper. )
e-Safety Check Report (pink slip) = $31.70
Total $549.79.

Got my Qld renewal for the Avalon yesterday - $481 for 6 mths

What gets me is that in both the CTP and the Registration break down they have 'Levy' and 'Surcharge' in both and no explaination as to why there are levies and surcharges. - and these are NOT the road improvement or Accident and emergency service charges or the road impovement charges - they're all extra

My 07 XR6, green slip $387.88, rego $398. Looks like the rest of OZ is coming into NSW costing the earth policies!

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Im better off paying the $650 renewal and never voting liberal OR labor again, its like voting for a two headed dragon, or flipping a coin with two heads, you know your buggered either way.
