Post subject: | RE13 vs 998 Cooper Cam |
Hi all, I have a friend who is after specs for the above two cams. I did a search and found that the knowledgable Doc said that the RE13 'has about 274° duration and .290" lift at the lobe' and using 1.5 rockers adds HP on the bigger motors. Does anyone have the specs handy for the 998 Cooper cam? |

This Link says a 998 Cooper Cam was an AEA630, with a duration of 230º. The major difference over standard was extra lift. That's a lot less than an RE 13... It also says that the 997 Cooper had a hotter cam. So, go the RE 13, or the 997 Cooper cam, then the 998 Cooper cam. This is the best explanation I found... Has lift, duration, etc. ![]() |

I agree. The 998 Cooper cam was much the same as a stock 1098 cam. Tame as. ![]() 997 Cooper cam was a good thing, but there are better cams about now. |

I'm now putting a 998 motor in Marcia rather than what I expected which will have to wait. The 998 will have a RE13 cam but as you have said in your original post a 1.5 rockers will not work well in a 998 motor no matter what cam he/she uses |
