Hey all, had a nasty rear-ender the other day... some stupid german f@ck decided he didnt like the shape of my commodore, so he changed it....

Anyway, it doesnt look bad, but i'm thinking its pretty nasty (from an Engineers perspective...)

On top of this damage, the Left hand boot hinge is twisted about 20' and the LH rear passenger wheel arch has a 3" dog-leg in it (kink in inner arch - where the door closes against, you know the bit i mean!)

So, in your expert opinions (hey you guys seem to crash more than me! :P) what sort of damage am i looking at ?
Its booked in next week for assesment and repairs will start immediately (hey, i'm old, got a great no claim, and i pay my premiums...) but i wanna know, should i start looking for a new ride for the wife ? I've got my eye on a nice 3-series Beema, but the 407 also grabs my eye ..... I wouldnt mind a Subaru either.....(Liberty B4..)

OR will i be getting it back all nice and shiny..... ?

Cheers all
J

easily repaired by a good beater.

They will strip the ass end and a 'tap tap' here and a 'tap tap' there.... A bit of a pull here and a gentle push there.....

No new ride for you, or the missus

EDIT: I am still waiting for confirmation about my Lancer. $4400 hail damage.....will it or wont it be a write off..... :?

so is the point that the germans arent happy with just destroying the mini, and are now out to destroy commodores too???
Had to fit a mini reference in this thread somewhere

My Wife and I on the way home kept making John Cleese references and cracking up (had to do something!)

id bin the commodoore.. POS anyway.. 3 series is so much cooler to be driving.. (i'm sure the panelbeater will write it off for you if you "ask" nicely)

with the amount of twist in the body (looking at that rear quarter) they might do it for you anyway.. would require alot of tonage to pull it out.. if they fix it.. theyd hide that rather than fix it
