I've not used one, but is the later `black' Rover LUF10005 clutch oil seal better than the usual red silicone rubber one?
If so, who stocks `em here.... I need a new seal.

Kev, try CBC brgs. I got a vitron seal for a 1275 eng a couple of weeks ago from them. The vitron takes a higher temp than the nitril seal. They also have a shrink fit spedi sleeve that fits the gear. It needs a bit skimmed off the end after it is fitted as its is a bit too long. I will dig thru the rubbish bin and see if I can find the packet to get the number off it. They also have the vitron seals to fit the timing cover as well. They are a bit dearer than the nitril seal about $11-00 instead of around $5-00. |

Karcraft are nearest me, they sell the std red one for $5, or the black LUF10005 one (injected cars) $20. I just wanted to know if it's as good, or better, than the common red one...
This is the 1st leaky one I've had for about 15 years, was put in with my proper tapered sleeve tool (not marked the lip) and it's only done about 3000 miles.

Thanks Pete. I should ask my supplier why they are $20 here, and only £3.80 (exc vat) over there...
