 Post subject: Generator not charging

generator stopped charging today - does the old hit it with a hammer trick work or should i try soemthing else?

Check the wiring, clean contacts in voltage regulator, if still no chargy the brushes are probably had it.
Time to strip it, machine commutator, fit new brushes & bearings. Or get a reco one. :wink:

sorry guys but nobody was paying attention to other post and if i didnt get it fixed tonight i was rooted and wouldnt be able to get to work. not a good thing. once again sorry, but in my panic of 'how the hell am i meant to get to work tomorrow' made me skittish and frantic. cant figure out how t odelete posts, i did it once a while ago
