Is this mini in Bronte? If its' the south African MK3 import from Bronte I went and had a look at this car and I had to leave it. The doors needed to be replaced as they looked unrepairable and unless you have $$$$$$$$ how easy is it to find MK3 doors in OZ the 1275 motor was from a LS and lots of panel damage. All fixable and reasonable if your doing all the work but if paying to fix the body it would double the original cost then any work to motor that needed doing and depending on the standard of the finish you wanted. I'd save another grand and buy something better they are out there.

Example: My super deluxe in trophy winning condition $3000, Elf neally as good $3500 woody traveller $3000 fair no panels need replacing, 850 needed body work and motor $10 000, Mini K panel van needed panel work and engine $10 000 and still hasn't got a motor or interior.

Don't buyt an expensive wreck unless its super rare and money is no object. all the little things add up if you want a good looking car buy somethinf in better shape and spend the other $$$ on bling not repairs.

minif1, what makes you want this Mini? Is it the 1275, dicsc etc, or do you just want a nice Mini?

Im looking into that car as well.
I'm currently sorting out transport from sydney to melbourne if I get it, and need to get th import documents, etc.
I've got to decide whether or not it's worth getting. It needs a new passenger floor, doors and front end wouldn't go too bad, a respray plus all the exhaust and engine parts to get it giong. If I bought it I'd be selling the engine, gearbox and driveline, and most of the interior and exhaust. I'll get something else in.

Mini F1, I won't stand in your way if you want this car. Just tell us what you're doing.

Well all of that really, I'm wanting to get one already registered, hopefully meaning I didn't have to do heaps of repairs on it - I don't mind doing repairs, it's just I have no garage or anything to put it in. So major repairs would be a problem.

Thanks anyway mate, but this car probably sounds like it's too much work for me, I might look out for something else. If only I had somewhere to store it.. Let us know if you end up getting it, and how your progress goes on it. Good luck!

Like I said, if I get the car the engine and drivelines will be sold through here or ebay.

JAM, I want a car to modify, and I couldn't do that to Pops.
