Post subject:  A panels

hey people this has probly been looked at before but i want to no if some one could tell me how u weld the a panels on as im from nz and most of the minis here are english style ones and dont have the same looking a panels i own a mk1 but it didnt need the a panels replacing so neva gave it a thought until i brought a 77 aus van that needs new a panels and front floors etc. any help would be great cheers.

if you can,t find someone to give you advice on a perticular problem on these wonderful :shock: little cars, then I can quite happily say that trhe problem never existed, :oops: :oops: :oops:

If you can wait a month I should have done mine and do a 'How to' on it

Otherwise look up Lindsey Porters Restoration Book and the UK Miniforum has a "How to" but the internal hinge type. - or look on this forum I've ask a few questions about it as well.

hey thanks for the welcome, ive been part of the site for a lil wile now but havnt posted any thing.

i can wait a few months until ive finished my turbo engine.
reason i wanted to no if that all the people in my club have internal door hinges so im not sure how the panel fits cos to me it looks like its part of the sill pice.... :? any who its going on to my mini truck so need to weld all the floors in etc.

I scored some top tips for doing A panels that make the job faster, easier (to weld) and neater to finish, I'll be doing some within the month also and might do pics to go along with them, if Wombat doesn't beat me to it
