Got a Ramflo 400 series filter body on the 45 Weber with the oiled foam replacement filter from unifilter as the doc suggested. Just wondering how often these need to be cleaned and re oiled. I have the correct oil. Thanks.

Whenever they get dirty or dy.

Depends on how much & where you drive.
I check it every 3 months, and clean it once a year or so.

If you go to this site, click on products and then click on the bottom where it says filter oil and cleaner. Not sure if its special or not, I guess it has to catch dirt but let air through though.

Hey Flute , I find the best way to oil my motor bike filters is to put them in a plastic bag , pure the oil in and squash it around untill the oil is absorbed into the filter . dont get oil all over your hands. if you end up with to much oil in the filter put it in another bag and squeeze it out

Very good idea, I will do that, thanks. Thats what I do when I cook potatoe wedges in the oven, cut them up, put them in a plastic bag, pour oil on and some moroccan seasoning, shake bag and tip them into the tray. No oil on the hands!

Might pay to use different oil and probably leave out the seasoning.
