Well as i'm thinking of making up a dash, could probably fit new gauges at the same time! What do people recommend for speedo, temp, fuel, oil pressure gauges?! Thanks |

VDO is very good but pricey. Speco is less good and less pricey. Then there's a zillion other makes as well with smoke-filled and flashy lights. It depends what you want really. |

A friend in the States had an excellent Smiths gauge in his Sprite - especially designed to test the Lucas circuits. If you pressed the small button at the bottom a wisp of smoke floated up across the face of the gauge. This proved that the smoke had not escaped from the wiring and that the circuit was still good ![]() Cheers, Ian |

VDO are the best, far better that most of the others out there. Roger at Howard Instruments will even put a Smiths face on a VDO gauge so you can have a reliable modern gauge that looks old, He does a very good black face 0 - 10 smiths look a like tacho using a new VDO tacho. |

for a speedo, stuart warner, autometer etc sell them, theyre electronic though so you would have to rig up something to read the sensor like a toothed wheel on the the hub for example.. thats why i just put rover mini gauges in mine ![]() |
