Post subject: | Temperature Gauge not working? |
Hi everyone. I recently fitted a centre dash binnacle instead of the wooden one in there. So trying to keep it neat i shortened the wire to the temp gauge then soldered it back together. Assuming it ran off an electrical contact? Am i wrong? As my temp gauge lights up with the lights but the needle doesnt move? Can someone enlighten me to what ive done? Thanks, Joe |

Sounds like a wire disconected somewhere. Try checking the connections to the gauge and the temp sender first. If you connect the wire at the temp sender to earth, the gauge should swing all the way to max, with it disconected the gauge should be on all the way cold. Changing the wire length won't affect operation. Cheers, Ben |

Don't forget the power is driven from the instrument regulator attached to the back of the Speedo (normally). So you have the wire from the sender (chase that through) and the wire from the small voltage regulator (10 Volt supply). I replaced my old type 10V voltage regulator with a new electronic one from David L (Wombat), Works really well DrMini has one and says 100% better than the std one. Hope this helps |
