Ok. so. here we go. The mini is ready for some wheels to get some rego. was thinking. http://www.minisport.com.au/prod1520.htm Wouldn't need an modifications correct? what flares? what tyres? http://www.minisport.com.au/prod646.htm those will do the trick? (1975 clubby.) -- or -- i like these. http://www.minisport.com.au/prod1227.htm but they need spaced drums. http://www.minisport.com.au/prod117.htm these fill fit? both back and front? what size flares would be a minimum? and same tyres as before? -- Also is there anywhere in the real world (i.e. brisbane/gold coast) i can pick this sort of crap up from? Cheers ausminions. |

Youll need to cut the guards to stop them scrubbing. And an upgrade to discs would be necessary. Theres a lot of extra rotating weight for drums to stop. esp if you plan to turbo it |

nuh this is for the clubby, it isn't going to be getting discs, its doesn't need them, its overkill. |

Not sure but you may run into issues with the width of the rims regarding registration. Could be too wide. Just a thought though you may be perfectly fine. I do like those wheels ![]() Phil |

Your track will be epically more than usual, so youd have to get it engineered. Youd have to cut the guards so you can turn, And get quite large arches to cover them, The supertrax would probably require smaller arches, but not by much. Overall, its a lot of work. |

You're asking for trouble taking it for inspection with 13x7s Front guards must be cut & you'll need some wide flares, and technically they are not legal fitment so you will need engineering approval (not that I've bothered with that though). Borrow some stock 10s for rego, then fit your 13s. |

Although those Supertrax wheels look mean, they would look very naff with drums. The bare minimum would be metro vented disk but really need anodised minisport calipers, if you're buying the wheels for looks. The charcoal grey minilites look okay, but again you'd be better going for 12x6 wheels rather than 13s, in my opinion. If you're going for that street racer look, it needs to be done thoroughly or it will look a little, um, wannabee, if you know what I mean. Again, it's all just my opinion, based on if it were my car. |

It would look like a typical excel, big wheels with tiny brakes, not really my cup of tea. Have a look for a set of 8.4 discs, shouldnt be too much. Im probably getting those wheels and running bright red metro vented callipers, so should look shmick. |

this car is only doing the daily duties, im not coughing up for discs unless some super cheap ones come up. the other mini is seeing the money. i just hate the rims on it atm so much. the reason i have chosen those wheels is the rest (on that website) are too plain in 12/11/10inch. any other suggestions on where i can get some from? |

My thoughts: if you like the excessive chrome look: http://www.minisport.com.au/prod792.htm I am running 12x5 silver SUPALIGHT's, and would recommend them to anyone wanting the bigger rim look. - Correction they are SUPERLIGHT's which I am sure are different to the minisport SUPALIGHT's... Not sure what the regulations are in QLD, but if you run 5" wide rims/tyres on a clubman with no flares, I am pretty sure the tyres will stick out past the guards and hence will require flares to be legal. (Correct me if I'm wrong anyone with this configuration on a clubman) You may get away with it if you get pulled up by the cops, but it depends on the cop. If you want 6" wide tyres, you will definately need flares, and maybe even the 2.5" or 3.5" wide flares, not sure on that one though, anyone with 12x6 rims? Also, I think the inside offset will get you. If you don't have spacer drums, I think even the 5 inch tyres will rub... Cheers Jonesy |

Just make sure you are doing the smart thing and having adequate brakes for the wheels you purchase. Don't ignore buying discs just because they are too expensive if you choose to purchase wheels that require them. It all comes down to what's the point of having a schmick car if it won't stop? & as for price, how much is your life, and others lives, worth compared to a $1500 brake conversion just for the sake of pretty wheels? TBH I quite like the steelies on minis, check out Tuck3r's thread here - http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... highlight= Or consider maybe superlites (like Cherry's) if you don't want to pour stacks of money into this mini |

If it's a daily car then all the more reason to go the discs, maintenance on a drum braked car with 13's will be more frequent than oil changes in a auto-transmission mini! ![]() |
