you know - bear with very little brain. I know it's been mentioned plenty of times but do you etch prime then use filler or fill and smooth then etch prime?

What, are you repairing a hive you broke into because you were hungry, or painting a car :?

i have always put etch down first befor any filler goes on, as filler is very poruss.(spelling) because if you don't and moister does get into the filler and there is no etch primer underneath it will start to rust fom behind the filler and the filler will eventually crack and falll off. trust me i have seen it happen.

cheers dan

I wouldn't use filler over a 1k etch as it wont stick properly. You will be fine using a 2k epoxy primer though. I don't use filler over an etch much, only if I'm leaving it a while before I prime it. Once it's sealed and you don't rub through into the filler all should be good. Either way good luck.

On my recent work i put etch spray primer under bog, then topcoat primer over the bog.

Use some epoxy 2pak primer - it is a lot better than etch
