Post subject:  ERA Turbo with 260 miles on the clock... [56k warning]

Hi!

Lst year I saw the probably most original ERA Turbo. It has a genuine 260 miles/420km on the clock, having spend it's life in a huge collection of other classic cars.

Just found the pictures again and thought I share them with you (it's probably an even rarer sight in Australia).

Some pictures from this poor ERA from the UK, standing at the Nürburg Ring camp side with a broken diff (turned out after they replaced the idler gear on the camp site... :? (car with bottle on top is mine  )

Hope you enjoy! The ERA has some nice extras and unique features - it's one of my most favourite Minis (eventhought I don't like spoilers)!

Cheers,
Jan

Seen that one a few times on different sites , the real shame is I always thought the era bodykits sagged and the gaps opened from highway use , it seems they were just a bad fit to start with :(

it would need a turbo just to cart all that extra weight around

I like the look of the dash, been trying to think one up for my convertible project and i think that'll suit nicely :D

Yes , never been used on the road , has been trailered to shows and shown in a collection . There is a Cagiva Moke in the same collection in the same condition (less than 500 miles) ....

ERA took production cars from the line and modified them , their attention to detail underneath was pretty ordinary though , only interested in engine mods and topcoat ...

very strange how grubby it is - you'd think if it was trailered to shows it'd be spotless. I don't think it'd win a show'n'shine out here

It is a significant car, but just too much 1980's plastic for me!

What's with the underside?
Has it been coated in some sort of oil or wax as a rust preventative or something?

It just looks like there is a layer of wax sprayed under it.
Not quite sure of the looks of the ERA kit and interior but wouldn't stop me having one and especially with such low kms.

Yeah, if you look close it looks rather poor, doesn't it? :(
But I'd buy it nevertheless :)

That yellow stuff is indeed wax, they sprayed it just everywhere...
