Hiya folks,

Bit of a noob question but where is the twin SU part # stamped? I have a left and right handed pair and while one side has the little tag (AUD146R), I am trying to find the number stamped on the bodies of the carbies. Oh, and they're covered in a few decades' worth of grease :?

I've been searching thru the ausmini archives and everyone has the same advice: "check the number of the side of the carb body". Where is that exactly?

While I'm on the topic, one side of the heatshield is split, so I'm planning to buy a replacement for my (non-concourse) resto. Any votes for a) black or b) stainless steel?

It is literally on the side of the carburettor body. Between the carb butterfly and the throat cast into the aluminium.
