just wondering if anyone can tell me what a 998cc engine will become when bored out 30+ thou or at least tell me how to work it out ?

find the bore and stroke in mm, then convert .030" inches to mm and add it to the bore, then find the formula for the volume of a cylinder and apply those two figures, the multiply it by the number of cylinders ;)
