take it out of the motor and check the bendix. It will need some dry lube to get it to move again nicely, or a small amount of light oil if needed....

Bendix drive pinion on the end is stuck and not throwing into mesh.
Note these should not be lubed with oil or WD40 etc. It makes it stick.
They should be washed clean with degreaser or thinners, then powdered graphite sprinkled onto the splines.

You should get a spare starter motor. Bring my spare rack back, and I'll give you one off the pile.

diagnose the issue with your starting system?????? then drive it back to where your exhaust was fitted and tell them of the mistake they have made???????

I was always using graphite, but found it a PITA to get the powder into the bendix and lubing where it should...so I tried using a little ATF to get it moving, not enough to splash about, only enough to coat the metal....problem disapeared. So I give the oil a go these days when I pull them apart...

Seems to work fine, but they're not really getting dirty at all either.

the place was closed cause i picked the car up at 5.00 so soon as i left and went up the road by the time i turned around and came back they had gone. and today being my roster day off i cant take it back there tomorrow so ill have to sort it out at work if they let me. by the looks of it just looks like the middle extractor pipe needs to come out abit more.

i just went back out to see if it would start again and it started now... starter must be getting stuck or something.. ill have to take it out in the morning at work and powder grease it.
