TranX LSD vs. Quaife ATB

Post subject:  TranX LSD vs. Quaife ATB
It's nearing time that the engine will be in for the last (voluntarily) time.
After doing a very small amount of motorsport with an 'open' diff, and driving a quick Mini with a "proper" LSD, I have come to the conclusion that my mini will need more grip.

The stroker just has too many torques :lol:

So I was wondering if there's anyone on here that has used both, or either, and can give me some advice.

I do understand that there are different ramps for the LSD, and would choose the 45/90 (unlocked on deceleration) ramp, for track work.

And I should add... the vehicle will be used for sprints, hillclimbs,.

Very rarely. Although it will be registered, I will certainly use my wits when and where I take it on the road.

It doesn’t take long to get them in and out, I proved that on the weekend again, :lol: now down to an hour and a half to get it out and on the bench. :oops:

My vote is the Quaife ATB, you don’t need every last bit of grip like a race car does and it has to be nicer to drive then with the TranX.

You know what the NB race car was like accelerating the other day, could you put up with that all the time? It was two hands on the wheel be for any power, then if you want to turn and put power on well :shock: look out for the kerbs on both sides of the road.

But then I’m going to say that as I have the Quaife ant I :roll: :D

I have a Quaife and love it. Great for Hill Climbs, Sprints, Motorkahanas and great on the road, and I don't have gorilla arms. End of argument.

I have a TranX in my Nb car, but I don't think this would be nice on the road. I also feel like I have been to the gym after a race weekend. You tend not to notice the effort required in the heat of the moment though! I think this diff is great for racing.

I also know someone who uses a quaife for motorkhanas and hillclimbs, and they are very happy with it. Because of the way the Quaife works, apparently it is noticable when the power shifts from one wheel to the other.

Quaife willy...

Call GR and discuss - he's driven both. In that motor of yours in motorkhana your on redline in lower gears most of the time right?

I reckon Quaife always :D

I know, I know!

I have a nice new Quaift ATB diff here. 8)

And a key chain too. Is that so you can find the house keys when they get propelled to the back of the car under the rear seat?
