as you may have seen in another thread, my leylands suffered a bit of damage, and im at a stage now where i need to consider what i'm going to do with it... Also while i've got the engine out, i've got a lot of options here too which i'll need to consider in regards to - either chucking something a bit quicker in.. or doing a bit of work on the current one. here are the pics. ![]() ![]() would love to hear your suggestions. |

But Simon, that was a sensible suggestion. Round fronts are easier to get. |

I reckon, tidy the front back to original. If you don't have them, halogen lights and a relay. If you have some money to pump into it yeah, make it go harder better faster stronger. Put a smile on your dial ![]() |

The other car appears to have tried that already. |

start pulling all the bits off and hitting it with a BFH. see how straight you can get it, and how much damage there actually is. then get a quote from a panel beater. Youll be able to get new grill, new bonnet latch top, front looks repairable, maybe all youll need is a new front left panel. |

How much money do you want to spend? Will you still want it to be a daily driver? Idle good in traffic? Not get hot in summer? ![]() There's plenty that can be done to the motor you have. You don't necessarily have to go to a 1275 to have real good fun! |

You don't necessarily have to go to a 1275 to have real good fun! yea i want it to be reliable, but a bit more power and a few less rattles would be sweet. i'll possibly be moving up to qld next year and won't really be driving around heaps up there - but not getting hot would be quite important up there i think. |

You don't necessarily have to go to a 1275 to have real good fun! Exactly right. With minor expense I managed to get a respectable 45 bhp out of my 1098 in my old purple clubbie. My 1275 hasnt come close yet. |

Fix it! After saving a clubman last year that needed inner and outer R/H guards, front panel, grill ect, yours doesn't look too bad! Would post a photo if I could figure out how? ![]() |
