i was rebuilding my drums last night and when it came time to fit the drum over the shoes i found it was quite a tight fit, and the shoes are rubbing against the drum. how do i fix this? is it simply worn/stretched springs? or have i put the shoes in wrong? thanks, Leighton any help is appreciated. |

Hi Leighton, Have you wound the adjustment right out? |

If Jess' solution doesn't fix (it should) check that you don't have oversize brake shoes which are designed for drums machined bigger than normal. |

yeah ive wound the adjustment out (it only spins on one offset axis doesn't it or is it; as you wind more and more it adjusts more and more?) and they're not over size shoes? |

Front or back? Front with the drum off wind the adjuster either way to allow the shoe back. Back wind the adjuster out of the backing plate. Are the pistons seized? |
