Is this a reasonable price? It's a 1973 Leyland Mini Cooper S British Racing Green, white roof Standard alloys. Original inside except CD player and inertial seatbelts. I need to get it's registration changed from QLD to WA. $7000. Cheers |

It is a Leyland Mini or a Leyland Mini S it is not a Cooper S. The alloys wheels are not standard on a 73. So is it worth $7000? How the heck would I know. You have not told us what the car really is. |

Hmmm , the fact that someone is selling it as a 1973 Leyland Cooper S (Cooper S production stopped in 1971) suggests they either don't know what they are selling and have listened to the wrong people or are trying to pass off something that isn't what it should be (or the year is wrong) . If you want to now what it is get the details from the compliance plate and post them here . |

Yep, 99% NOT a Cooper S.........but Read somewhere that the date on compliance plate was not the production date but when the car was released to or from the holding yard, and that that could be as late as 1973, as it was written that some bloke swore blind he had a 1973 one as it was on the plate!!!! Might have been in TME.........maybe issue 14?? |

my 2c every mini is a "cooper S" to the uninitiated. it is highly unlikely there was leftover stock of cooper S after the GT (its replacement) went out of production. its more likely that it is a leyland mini S with the factory rostyle pressed steel wheels which look like alloys, or fitted with contessas which were a factory option. as to its worth, we cant give you any solid advice without seeing pictures of the car, but i think for a common model like this 7k should get you an immaculate original or restored car hopefully with documents/history and should be free from rust and it should be mechanically sound. |
