an advance driving course would be better i reckon, teaches you manual ABS.

I thought about fitting a kit to my mini years ago, there was a kit available for about $500 from a website that sold various electronics, cameras etc. (allthings.com.au)

I think the main problem with ABS on a mini is the weight, there's not a lot of weight on the tyres, which makes them easy to lock up. ABS releases when it senses locking, so on a light car, the stopping distance is likely to increase unless the ABS is very responsive. Which might be the reason we've only started seeing ABS on small cars in the last few years

It's just like trying to stop a car with ABS on gravel or mud - Poeee did a little test on his WRX in the mud at Hay, stopping distance was much shorter with the ABS fuse out

Why would you ythink of this? Mini's unless disc braked don't stop, so what would ABS do?

After teaching unacoutable ladies how to drive a manual including my own wife in a moke  that was fun....the best advvise I would give is get yourself & or partners to partisipate in Khrana or Motokharana's and where you can skid pan, it will teach you how to use your brakes when, where and how needed. I did a lot of "park" work when I was younger both front and rear wheel drive and its been got me out of alot of possible disasrters

wouldnt be worth the hassle i reckon mate, they weight of the car and the suspension bounce etc would make it go off when its not needed probably too

Retrofit a modern car one - it should be able to be done if you can put in engines etc

If youve got 12 inch wheels+ then go for 8.4" vented 4 pot discs off a metro turbo. Cheap as when imported from england and always good fun proving people wrong when they say you cant get vented 4 pots for minis.
