ive been thinking about this for a while and its only now im started to get pushed into a decision. the decision i need to make is whether to fix tiny or not. now oviously if i do choose to repair tiny its gonna cost me a fair bit but it may be worth it to see the car running and being fixed up finally the way i wanted. however i have been thinking whether it would be a better option for me to just buy another roundnose mini already together and running. To repair tiny ive gotten a few quotes and alot of them are around the $3500-$4500 for repair of damage/rust and respray if i strip him first. then adding the cost of a new motor i want to put in and disk brakes i have to buy and few other small costs.. then rego and slips. by the time tiny is finished im looking at around $8000 in costs. i am some what attached to the car but at the same time i need to watch my hip pocket aswell. for those who dont know tiny or dont remember the before and after shot of him. ![]() ![]() ![]() just some advice on what to do would be grand thanks. |

In the greater scheme of things Joe, it is not that badly damaged and you know it's history. Buying another car could be just buying someone else's tarted up problems. To get a good car, with a strong 1275 and disc brakes your're looking at the sort of money you are quoting anyway. And it will still probably need rust repair and paint after that anyhow. I think fix it. Even if you put aside parts required over a period of time til you're ready to start. KB |

If you think about it the other way. How much would you get if you sold it as is? Not too much when youve put probably put money into it already. Keep it and take your time doing it up. |

For the cost + time + hassle of buying another Mini and then transferring all the goodies over, you are better off repairing what you have. Being located in Sydney you shouldn't have much trouble getting help off fellow ausmini'ers. Just ask, not too many bite! Get it stripped, and get to work on pricing all the parts you need. |

Fix it - once you bite the bullet it's not that bad - think of what you can learn from the experience. |
