Can anyone tell me how the hydrolastic pipes are positioned on english built minis? I am putting hydrolastic suspension back in my mini but it has been fitted with reproduction floors which don't have the indentation for the hydrolastic lines to fit into. Has anyone else had this problem? if so what did you do? |

My 850 is dry but I'm pretty sure that it used to be hydro. I'll check it out and try and take some photos this evening to show where the channels run. Cheers, Simon |

Oz Deluxe and Cooper S up to 1967 (no hydro channels) had the pipes straight along under the floor, clipped on, with a little tin protector guard at each end. Sorry I don't have a pic... |

From memory they run alongside the tunnel - much like the brake lines/battery cable. Cheers, Ian |

Sorry I don't have a pic... Dr Mini did the pipes still run along the centre of the floor or against the tunnel? Thanks for the information everyone. |

Hi Lindsay, I can take photos if you are stuck. The hydro pipes run beside the battery cable, brake and fuel lines. Regards Al |

On Oz cars the early hydro pipes were not in the tunnel. Neither were the fuel and brake lines. Dunno about UK cars. |

The hydro pipes run the same as the brake line and battery cable on the drivers side, and its mirror image for the passenger. I remember someone a while back fabricated the recesses for the hydro pipes themselves, and then welded in captive nuts to support the hydro covers. |
