I've never done them up any tighter than needed.

New seals, bridge seal, s/s pistons. I love wasting my money.

Nasty...
One thing to watch when doing up old ones-
It's a good idea to either run a dienut down the nipple threads, or fit new nipples.
Otherwise, rust and crap on the old nipple threads can try to spread the threaded hole in the caliper. But cast iron doesn't spread, it CRACKS...
<edit> I clean the caliper threads out with a tap, as well.

You could try Repco or a good brake parts place.

I have one here that was made by Turner Enterprises which I think is this company... http://www.turnerdriveshafts.com.au/index.html Their web page is useless and I think an email or a phone call would be a good idea.

You can find other manufacturers on the net.

If you take the calliper to a decent cylinder head/engine shop they should be able to weld up the broken section and re tap the hole for you.

Bugger!

Now that's interesting... Exactely the same thing happend to my original stone old 'S' calipers...

Image

Just sheared off with almost no resistance/no force needed...

I however binned them and switched for some brand new ones (not expensive). Sold the old calipers in bits...

Cheers,
Jan
