Hi All, I have a matching numbers 68 mini deluxe which I purchased a little over a year ago. The plan was to do a full restoration but to reinstall as many of the original items such as the interior as possible . When I purchased the car it was complete and in original condition and needed a tidy up. I have totally dismantled it and found little to no rust. Im about 80% through the body work and have found another project and lost interest. I was wondering what you guys think it would be worth if I decided to sell it. Thanks Dave |

Well presentation is everything. Some people fall in love with a project for the projects sake and others see it as a quicker way to have a car on the road with minimal effort. But I am generally wary of unfinished projects as often they are unfinished because the tasks were too big a job or not poperly done to begin with. Now to give an estimated value, its somewhere between a $1,000 and $5000. You really need to post some photos to show what has been done and what condition it is actually in. Many on here have a very good idea of what the real value is by looking at honest photos. Mike |

Thanks Mike, Other than taking apart and putting it in the corner of my shed, not a great deal has been done on the putting back together front. I've done some work on the body but thats about it. As far as pics there are some pictures of her in the "Members Mini Gallery" on page 7 called "New guy with project" Cheers Dave[/img] |

Such a shame you didn't leave it as it was... a completely original unrestored Mini in brilliant condition. Would have been worth very much more. http://ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=45997 |

Yeah, I liked that Mini as it was, because it's a twin of my first car. Right down to the paint condition, stickers, colour, trim and even the year!! ![]() |

Yes - I have to agree with every one else - a good $5k as it was. Keep it for a rainy day as now is not a good time time to sell it. You wont get much more stripped etc that $1-$1.5K. Mike |

Not as much as it was before you pulled it apart! You have taken a beautifull example of an original Mini Deluxe and Ruined it! You Should be Ashamed of your self! Seriously Mate, Give it to someone to put back together before all the parts are seperated and the car is lost for ever. As for having lost interest may I suggest that the fact is you have realised you have not got the talent or ability to put it back together! Any fool can pull a car apart, It only takes talent to put one back together!!!! Dave |

Hey - its his car and he can do what he wants to do with it - its not as though its been mini-tubbed and cut up to slot a V8 in it. Sure it was in original condition and can be again in probably in better condition. Sadly about half the project cars (and not just minis) end up as scrap on tips as the job was bigger than the owner thought and also for other reasons beyond the owners control. It may well be what some people think but its not yet on a tip somewhere |

All he's done a bit of the annoying work for the next person that comes along and that will restore it. He's also made it cheaper for them too. ![]() |
