usually it`s just the skin that`s alloy, i have 2 on one of my race minis, but they`re early slide window type

i believe there are still people making the alloy skins for them, but i think they`re in England

The factory ally doors will be very hard to find for sale tho

I stumbled across a site the other day with skins - but can't find the "favourite" I saved....

However a quick google and

http://www.minidoor.co.uk/streetfighter.html

Mainly talks about UK Mk3 doors but is mention of early doors and weights...

I have seen a couple of genuine Alloy BMC Doors over the years, its somthing NMP liked to collect. From memory they were all Alloy, not just the skin, they were made in the same molds as the original steel doors. I belive they made bonnets & bootlids as well. Henry would be the best person to contact if you are chasing one, or maybe Simon at BSC. Oh yeah, there not "legal" for an Nb car but i belive there ok for an Nc car.
(there early sliding window doors im talking about too)

How would they go on road cars? Or would you have to get it engineered to comply with safety?

They were original factory options. And yes, they were all alloy including the sliding window frame. Very rare these days.

I have an alloy bonnet and bootlid, and no, they are not for sale. The bootlids are the early UK type, with long number plate section and full inner skin. Less than half the weight of a normal bonnet/bootlid.
