Anybody know what size the steering shaft thread is on a mini(ie where the steering wheel goes on and that huge nut keeps it from falling off.I bought a new nut but have found out the thread on the shaft is a bit knarled so need to find out size so I can get a die nut and recut the thread. And if any body has a die nut to re-thread it in Brissy that I can borrow or buy.any help would be great.cheers Steve

It is very fine, NOT a standard UNF etc thread, I doubt you will buy a dienut this size.
Put the shaft in a lathe and get the thread `chased' to clean it up.
Or chamfer the edge where damaged, and then clean up with a thread file.
