Was it someone on this site that bought the 1966 Deluxe in Launceston today. I was looking to buy it and hoping to pay around $3000 as it needed plenty of work on the body but did look really good fron a distance(good paint for age but a few bad rust patches) and I think it went for $6900 plus the 11% buyers fee.
Sorry but I didn't get a photo of it. It was moonsone grey? with a very nice red interior.
I really wanted it but couldn't see the value......
Hope if it was someone on the site that they just clean up the dodgy bits and leave as much of it as original as they can.
There was also a rough 79 van that sold for $1100+11% and a 78 sedan that was pretty rusty that sold for $1800+11%
Phil

Ah ha. Thought it might have been. I lived in Launie for 6 years until Jan 08, and went to many of their auctions. I wanted to buy one of 2 Honda Fours that they were selling one day but "her indoors" wouldn't play.
That deluxe looks pretty good.
Thanks. 8)

No unfortunately not :( . Cars were a lot rougher than they look in the photos. Fair amount of rust in floors, front wheel houses, guards and so on. Decided I'm better off with what I've got :) or even buy the ones I looked at on the weekend. That way I'd have a heap of spares and a choice of mags  .

Oh yeah forgot to mention. I was also going to bid on the XT Falcon for my boss and he was expecting around $4500 as it needed restoring but it ended up going for $9000  .
