Post subject:  Please find my old cars! Clubman gt and 1970 roundnose

Hi, just wondering what happened to 2 of my old minis. I sold them back in 1992 to a guy named Ian McGinley in Ballarat. One was roundnose with lift up doorhandles, i believe he repainted it the original brown or cream after i sold it to him.(it had been a crappy black paint job) It had a 1275 with a dellorto carb and fabricated steel air filter housing, machined down 1100 disc brakes with toyota corolla calipers, contessas and an alloy 6pt cage. It's rego number was EDP-429 and from memory was registered as a 1963 or a 1962 mini for some reason! I think it was sold to a guy in Baccus marsh. The other one i should never have sold was a genuine Clubman gt, I sold it as an unfinished project, it was a rolling shell with a new paint job in brock formula blue. The gauges had small bmc rosettes in them someone had added. It did not come with disc brakes, booster, engine etc.
Originally it was a sandy yellow color (cameo gold maybe)??? Think the guy who bought it was going to restore it back to original. Would just like to know what happened to them for interests sake, as i have caught tho bug again after 17 years.

Try the community on the GT Spot for the Clubman GT. Anton or one of the other members may know.

For the roundnose, if it hasn't gone to god it has at least been reregistered with a new number or gone interstate. If you do a search for a custom Victorian plate on EDP429 the system says that number may be available. If it was still in use the system would tell you so.

Hiya,

My GT shell is camino gold, but I have no idea of its history.

And I don't recall any trace of blue (it's in primer now), so unlikely to be yours.

Any other identifying marks - eg, mine has a weber box cut out :(

No rosette gauges either!

cheers! jon

If you go here:

http://www.vehiclestatuscheck.vicroads.vic.gov.au/

...and continue to the next sceen you can check the car that is currentky registered to any numberplate or VIN in VIC.

Note that it does not provide name or address, just the basic details.

Unfortunately EDP.429 does not show up. But neither does my 1980 Corona daily, so maybe older regos don't show??

Cheers,
