Post subject:  Dellorto Value (pics)

Hey all,
contemplating selling my dellorto, as all its doing is taking up space round the house, and the 'rents' are gettin annoyed.
Just wondering if anyone could give me an approximate value as to what it is worth.
Dellorto DHLA 40
-Ran on an 1100cc engine, until it started to run quite rough which was replaced by twin HS2's instead
-THINK it may require 'soft mounts'
-possibly custom manifold ie chopped up from another one (looks like it)
not sure of any other details on what i could tell you, but heres a few piccies, including when it was running on the car
Cheers

Best bet is ebay I reckon. I'm no expert but I paid about $300 for a better looking 45 Weber with manifold and same air box and then they cost about that again to be fully restored. I know the Dellorto is just as good but most people buying a carby will go for a Weber in my opinion just for the name. I did!

If I hadn't had a sale drop out I'd buy it in a heart beat but I would put it up on Fleebay

I'd get someone to bead blast it all, it'll bring more $$$ then.

IMO that manifold is worth around $100 s/h, and the carb $150 up.

Doc regarding the bead blasting, I heard that you shouldn't let any media to touch the inside the ports as it scours the walls around the venturi and wrecks the carb. Any opinions?

Yep seal the ends first and leave the bowl lid and base on.
Once done and stripped, ultrasonic cleaning is handy to clean the interior.
