just wondering if that rust converter stuff is any good ? has anybody used it before?

i have found that "de-ox" gel sold by the same people that do POR 15 is GREAT leaves shiny metal only behind, even in very pitted metal. Expensive though @ $50lt.

as for the plain phosphoric acid im a bit wary about it for things other than slight surface rust which it can be great for cleaning the metal. Had little experience with it though for the long term

I found the Loctite (was called Permatex before) rust converter in the white bottle with orange lid to be good stuff. It's creamy, not runny so it can be used on vertical surfaces.
I painted the inside floor in mine with it 10 years ago, never painted over it and it's still good. It dries to a black paintable surface.

I used some POR15 on my car before painting it this time (around the 4 side seams and rear bumper seam), I'll let you know in 10 years how it's going... :lol:

cheers for the help , i have got a bit of surface rust and someone at work mentioned this stuff so i thought i would check with the expert first :)
