| Post subject: | Mains bolt lock tabs |
Do I really have to fit these? I have wrecked so many already when I torque them up, even cleaned for rough edges and applied engine assembly lube, but still twist them! Apparently late model A+ motors never used them? (mine is not A+) Thanks for any help! (please say I don't need them) |

Don't use them, they are soft metal that can easily deform & possibly allow you rod bolts to come lose. Doogie |

Don't use the main locktabs, as Doogie said they deform and you lose bolt tension. Same goes for rod bolt locktabs on smallbores. Just oil the threads. The nuts stay tight due to bolt tension when torqued up.. |
