Congratulations!

I think the price-per-car is quite reasonable too, considering the effort and expense involved.

Stick an adevrt in TME and you probably get a lot of interest.

*starts saving pennies*

Congratulations. This is a great step forward and a relief that someone will hopefully be saving these cars from certain destruction in Japan...

Will ongoing after-sale related services be available from AMC ? ie, parts & servicing

Or will you only being offering compliance ?

I was wondering what this could do to prices. Will it go up or will it go down?

Could the market become saturated?

Congratulations for putting up your own $$ and jumping through the necessary hoops to get this.

As a Rover owner I don't care what this does to the market price, the fact that it opens up a new source of minis for all enthusiasts can only be positive for the future of the mini in Australia. 8)

First off, well done to all involved. :D

Now, a question... Does this tie in with English Minis at all? I know the Japanese cars had different specs to English cars, so... Does this change how easy it is to bring in a car from the UK, post 89?

Frequently Asked Questions –

Q. Which Mini’s can you comply?

A. At present our evidence is for the SPI, Japanese spec, Rover Mini from 1997 – 2000. We will be working on the earlier year models in the near future.

i believe that means no UK minis. Jap only '97-'00

Yep, that's the concern I have as well.

The mechanical bits and basic maintenance don't scare me. After all, it's still an A series engine under all that salad.

However, future diagnosis of engine management issues and getting the correct parts does worry me. For example the ECU in Japan spec is different to UK spec. What if it fries?
