My 68 morris van should be ready to re-install everything back into it in a couple of weeks.. And for the electrical side of things every thing was pretty much already taken out of it, so i am asking if anyone has a wiring diagram or something of the sort to get me started.. I am intalling all new wiring as the old stuff is buggered. I know there isnt much to electrical stuff on a mini but what is needed for the guages and things like that...? Cheers Daniel |

If it is a wiring diagram you are after then look in the haynes manual it should show a full diagram there but if you dont have the manual get a diagram off the net out of a search engine like google. hope this helps if not pm me Pat |

It'll be cheaper to buy a new wiring harness. $330 brand new. you can't go wrong. They will even add in extra wires for guages etc etc for you. YOu can have it taped, braided or spot taped. Try http://www.classicwiringlooms.com.au/ http://www.vinwire.com.au/ Much easier and alot cheaper. Cheers Aaron |

For the brave it is not that hard to do. Get the loom out of the car whole, knowing where all the wires terminate. That means know where the headlights terminate, switches interior light, fuse box etc. Now lay it out on a big board and you will able to fix points on the board that the loom fixes to. We used to use nails as points around which the loom bent around and branches started from. I know it sounds complicated but thus is the way the professionals do it. Set the board up near vertical and it becomes a relatively easy job. The biggest problem is to source all the different wire colours and terminals. Multi pin modular plugs are difficult to source also. Basically you need a board as big as the car. The main part of the board needs to be one piece, but the runs to the rear could be a narrow plank off the main board with a T for the tail lights. Make all the runs to terminations longer than you need to allow for fitting, cutting and terminating the wires on the car. Having done this you can now make a harness for me! |

Be careful with wiring diagrams for UK built cars as there are many differences. Later OZ built cars use different wiper motors and alternators (OZ built Lucas electrics) and the fittings for tail lights etc are different. Best option is from an OZ based wiring loom maker as allready mentioned. They are aware of all the variations both major and minor between OZ built cars (including vans). Regards RonR |

I I'm doing a Very Simlar Idea to Chris...As I work on the floor anywayt..Morris was going to stay out side for the weekend and lay my loom out with signes. Clean each wire and unsure all labels are still clear (marsking tape when each wire is pulled or terminal) I'm Extending all my wire with a Loom I got from Pickandpinch..well I paid $15. Each wire will also be checked for brakes and with the multi meter. Each main section of wire (Lights) with be covreed in Srink Tube Black |
