Post subject: | Plastic/resin Battery Box |
Hi, Has anyone found a plastic/resin battery box that fits a standard battery hole? I want to fit a battery box in the hole after the rust repair (minor). Then vent the box outside via a small pvc tube. I like the idea of finding an aftermarket plastic or resin box because I've got a hard case rather than the fibre cover (which needs to be replaced again). I'm a bit scared of using the boot in case something metallic falls onto the battery terminals. This will be step one before getting the boot lined (MDF & Carpet). Cheers, Mark. |

hmm... interesting I'm sort of after the box though to remove the battery gasses through a vent and not have any resting on top of the battery. (or move and damage the top of the battery. I think this how the battery leaked to begin with.) Was looking at these. Look very "designed by supercrap" though. http://www.haigh.com.au/index.php?option=showproduct&ParentID=124 Cheers, Mark. |

Maybe try looking at something for a boat, to make it 'sealed' and vented to the outside, you might need to make the cutout in the boot floorpan a bit bigger though. Sounds like this is not a bad idea.... |

My mate runs one of those battery boxes in his s13 silvia. You need to strap them down and youd be hard pushed to get into the standard hole. |
