Real early ones (1961) had thinner centres, they BROKE!! All Mini wheels were rivetted up until around 1963-1964. Tyres back then all had tubes in. One reason the manufacturer went to spot welding instead of rivets is that tubeless tyres were invented. ![]() |

I think a better photo would be an idea so that we can see what we are supposed to be looking at. I assume that the three rivets are to hold the hubcap on. Is this correct? |

All Mini wheels were rivetted up until around 1963-1964. the one in the photo has rivets for the hubcap lugs - photo is too blurry to see if it has rivets from the centre to the rim |

I think, (and i may be wrong) the centres with the 3 "rivits" are from a Austin A30, not a mini. |

a friend of mine picked up a A30 and it has very similar rms with the rivets. |

The very early model minis had rivets holding the rim to the center,,, that`s one set of rivets out of the way the other type of rivet is like the ones in the picture, they`re rivets to hold the hub cap on those rims would have (originally) had both rivets holding the rim to the center & the rivets to hold the hub cap on But!!!---> I have no idea of the original type hub cap that suits them, but they are definately genuine mini, we have a couple of them here |
