was out tonight finishing up the oil cooler install...all done now and noticed the spring was off....and then noticed there was no clip on the master cylinder for it to clp onto... so i made up a new one out of alloy. ![]() now i need a new spring.....can i just replace it with one that is close enough same size and thickness.. or does it have to be a spring with the same return presure?? was just going to get a spring from bunnings.... |

The slave cylinder doesn't have anywhere for the spring to clip, there's an egg-shaped washer which mounts in behind the bleed nipple where you've put your alloy. You don't need exactly the right spring, anything the right length with there-or-thereabouts the same strength will do the job in a pinch. |

![]() Just make sure the spring you buy is strong enough, otherwise you'll leave the thrust bearing dragging which will wear it out in no time flat. |

FYI thats the clutch SLAVE cylinder your talking about. And just so you know the stronger the spring the harder it is to push the pedal. So don't go crazy and buy some ultra strong spring (if you can even stretch it to fit) |
