Hi everyone, Atm im working on my temperature gauge, it broke a while ago and im trying to fix it. I fiddled around with the ??regulator??(little box with 30A on it wired into all of the speedo lights) as it was near enough solid rust. Then to get the rest of the speedo surround off i cut the black wire to the speedo, id done it before and nothing happened, and a liquid started squirting out. Is this ether? and is it poisonous? Can anyone tell me how to fix it? or at least change to electrical gauges. Thanks, Joe |

Doesnt seem to hard really. Any idea if super cheap sells ether? I dont really want to try to explain what it is to a check out chick. |

Pharmacy - particulally an "older" one may have it. Hobby shops that sell model (petrol) driven engines - for those that like to formulate their own mixture. Hardware ? |

All the best hobby shops in brisbane can supply it, its used for the small diesel engines some modellers use, should be a reasonable price too. |

Oh yeah, that's what I meant by "better". Many are just toy shops...big expensive toy shops... Southside hobbies at Buranda are excellent (If they're still open), so is RC Warehouse at Underwood, Budget Hobbies at Tingalpa, Burbur Hobbies on the gold coast. All these guys have it, or can get it. |

jeesus christ - why would you want to use a 'mechanical' gauge instead of an electronic one... sticking a sender in the head and a wire to the dash sounds a lot easier! |

Because a mechanical temp gauge is more accurate than a elec gauge. BMC replaced the elec gauges with mech gauges on the works cars. |

Thanks heaps for the help. I think i will be changing to an electric gauge, as i the capillary tube is shot. A wire and a gauge sounds a lot easier. And super cheap doesnt sell ether, found a staff member who actually knew something which was odd. |

hey y go electric in my family we 4 minis running all were every day drivers untill one ran out of rego but we had heating prob with all of them every single one, that cant be right so we went and brought a mechanical temp guage and they werent even over heating they are a lot better then electir i recon but each to there own
