Finally off today to Leigh Creek, Oodnadatta in sight, Marree tomorrow, and then the track the day after and hoping to be in William Creek by Monday. Track conditions are open to two wheel drives, but warnings of large rutts in the road after William Creek, and corregations on the road close to William Creek. So wish me luck, im leaving Port Augusta in about an hour. 75 Litres of fuel, and full of supplies, i am ready to tackle one of the toughest trails in the country. Many thanks to everyone whos helped along the way, Scott, Ian, Steve, John, Minisport, and everyone else who knows who they are. So lets see this little Mini make it to the other side, and finally park itself out the front of Uluru. |

Good luck - have done that track a few times.... Take it slow on the track - its pretty good but an all weather road and high speed will cut up ur tyres - trust I have done it... Have a beer Marree and William Creek (pretty much all you can do there anyways) - enjoy the lake on the way - another tip - wear old shoes on the lake - they will get VERY muddy but the salt won't cut the crap out your feet - yep done that as well... Take care !! DICK |

wow when I saw your pictures I couldnt beleive it! I was in the flinders from Tuesday and came home yesterday! I've taken a picture of the same tree and bit of road haha (shame mine doesnt have a mini and a cute dog in it hehe) just yesterday ![]() you would have had to drive right past our campsite to get there if you were there when we were. and the hotel, we had tea there thursday night (and I also spotted you there drexxle, but you chucked a u-turn and didnt stop ![]() Heres my little puppy loving the outback, apparently you have to be careful of bait there for the foxes ![]() Hopefully the dust storm has eased off for him, we had to come home it was so bad and could hardly see the car driving right in front of us. You should be able to see massive mountains in this picture, so hopefully he's managing allright ![]() |
