Ok, this may be a very stupid question........

My Princess is positive earth and has a cigarette lighter, I can't run my sat nav in said lighter socket as it blows the inline fuse (presumably becasue the sat nav in negative earth)

Is there any sort of "inverter" I can use to convert the positive earth power coming out of the cigarette lighter to negative earth for the sat nav?

I realise I could change the car to negative neart but would prefer not to do that as at present everything works very nicely and I don't want to tempt fate

cheers

won't tell me how fast I'm going, in these cash strapped times when speed cameras are revenue raisers I'd like to have a slightly more accurate idea of how fast I'm going than my speedo provides

If the cigarette lighter is not mounted to the steel body (like the wooden dash) you could just swap the wires in the back of it.
Another way is to make an extension lead that plugs in to the lighter and you swap the wires on the extension plug so that you have the positive in the centre.

Kev, the princess has what, 4 cows worth of leather interior and about 6 trees worth of timber trimming? I think she'd take a while to wind up to an illegal speed... put the nav in that hot rod of a wolsely! :D

So I wouldn't need to earth an extension lead? that sounds like it would work! thanks
