My garage is tiny. Fortunately I have a Mini.
The workspace measures about 2 m by 4m. At the same time, the engine is not operational - besides I pulled out the petrol tank which doesnt help.
I plan to spray paint the car in the near future, but need to be able to 'lift' and move the mini from side to side to allow access.
Notice Supercheap sells some kind of contraption on wheels which may suffice -but I am working on a shoestring (damn my wife is already complaining about the smell of etch primer in the house!) and cannot justify the extra cost.
Any suggestions? I was thinking of a modified shopping trolley (?)

I bought two pair of these- work great. Amazing how easy it is to push the car around in any direction

SNAP! What he said. Works a treat with a bare shell :) Not so sure if you still have the engine etc still attached.

I welded up a set of dollys using 20 or 25mm RHS in a rectangular shape with castors on each corner. The "rectangle" is sized to fit the tyre approx. 30% inside so the tyre locks in so to speak. Obviously you need a trolley jack though to lift up one end completely to load and unload. The castors in my case bolt on with a bolt straight through the centre so it is just a matter of drilling the appropriate holes and bolting them on.

I've found that Coles and Woolies have redesigned shopping trolleys to be less attractive as a source of wheels and frame for this type of purpose.

In my case I was lucky and got some suitable castors for free, but it still can work out cheaper than buying the type of dollys wombat is referring to. My castors don't have the locking tabs, but that would be preferrable and what I am currently trying to track down.

Go for a bunnings trolley. They should have good castors.

I've got these. Expensive, yes, but they work really well

I needed to move my Mini sideways in the garage. I didn't have a lot of room for moving it forward or backwards. So I stuck the floor jack under the front of the car and I stuck a shovel under a rear tyre.
To move the rear I just pulled on the handle of the shovel and it slid across the concrete quite easily.

Can't do that. Kind of stuck to her and the kids. Sentimental thing, can't explain. I just an old fool - explains the old mini.
