Post subject:  help - track width?? further help required : )

Hi All

I have been researching on the site and other mini sites\forums, web pages etc for the track width front and back, I have found numerous different measurements - 1203, 1213, 1219, 1232, 1274, 1341 (all mm's)

Can someone please confirm if any of these are correct, if not what is the correct measurement, for a few different models if not all models, obviously the cooper s will be wider due to spacer drums etc

Thanks

According to various Australian BMC/Leyland hanbooks.

Mini 850, Deluxe & Clubman. Front = 1205mm. Rear = 1164mm.
Cooper S & Clubman GT. Front 1231mm. Rear = 1210mm.

Hey All, sorry to bring this one back but after further clarification

Mynute or anyone else- I know your talking about SA regs but do you mean
front 1276 mm back 1236mm is standard cooper s? so you can go to 1301mm for front?

My manual does not have the front/rear track width for a cooper s or any other later minis!

I am after a manual or pages of a maual showing the track width, basically require proof for an engineer.

Even sportspack mini track width would be great.

any help appreciated

cheers

Leyland "Black" manual Pg 19

Front:

850/998/997 Cooper - 3' 11 7/16" 1.20m
Mini 1100 saloons/vans?Clubman 3' 113/4" 1.21m
CooperS 4' 1 1/4" 1.25m

Rear

850/998/997 Cooper - 3'9 7/8" 1.64(sic)m
Mini 1100 saloons/vans?Clubman 3"10 7/8" 1.82(sic)m
CooperS 3'11 21/32" 1.19m

I have typed these numbers as printed.... I suggest Leyland were using a Lucas calculator to do the metric conversions.

I would maybe trust the Imperial measures and rework the metrics :)

Cheers, Ian

Does anyone else know off hand the track of an ERA turbo mini?
Im planning on using that as justification to an engineer for my starlet conversion. As theyve got 4 pot vented discs, 13 inch wheels and a turbod engine from the start.

The era has 13*6 wheels, and spacer drums on the rear, so would not be as wide as a sportpack due to the sp having spacers on the rear.

There is a very good website run by some nice people dedicated to the ERA.

Monda

The specs I gave was for the cooper s with disc brakes that was the largest distance I could go to get passed.
Front 1276 mm and the back 1236 this is what the inspector said.
1301mm is to big for SA
