Hi guys,

I'm a little confused..i was told i would need to cut the Inner & Outer guard on my 74 Clubby Van to fit my 13x7..? ..so the wheels won't rub...
now i am being told by a different person that i don't need too...
which i believe i still do...

So are you suppose the cut both Guards when putting on 13x7??

Cheers x

It can depend on offset, but I'm yet to see 13 x 7 rims (with correct 195 or wider tyres) that didn't need any guard cutting.
Front will need to be done, some people trim the back as well on lowered cars.
:D

I'm pretty sure it's only the outer guards on the front but I don't know how much.

Inner guards don't need cutting. What people do is put spacers on the steering rack so the wheels can't turn as tight.

I just got 13x7 for my sedan and the rears are fine no cutting or anything needed but the front needs to be cut, but only the outer guard.

I did need f__k off flares to cover the wheels though.... thanks Harley. haha.

There is a cut out template you can get off the minispares.com website. its in the download section. Costs nothing to get, 30c to print, about an hour to cut out and sticky tape together and once you have it all together, it has a dotted line which shows you how much you should cut out.

Its an easy way to see how much needs to go......

It depend on the offset of your rims, but mine never tough the inner guards, and I don't have a rack stopper.

The outers at the back were fine, the front needed a fair bit of trimming as mine is lowered a fair bit:

i fit 13*5.5 and only had to trim the front half of the front outer guard....if that makes sense

basically from the top of the guard around to the bumper i gradually cut more and more material off. max af about one inch then rebent the lip.

My tires have quite a large offset and are on spaced hubs so it may be comparable to the 13*7's....not cutting the iner guards.
