Just wondering if it is more cost effective to just buy a length of rubber and locking strip rather than buying the individual packs from a supplier?! Also be good to know a good supply for it and the type/profile?! lol |

Novus stoc the strips but id be a bit hesitant about using a long piece of rubber as i reckon you may have probs getting the two ends to seal up as they shrink over time.... well thats my opinion any hoo ![]() |

I used rare spares for mine, already in a loop so no gaps. Also they are a wide rubber so its easier to hide where trims are glued to the body ![]() |

I buy the proper windscreen ones and they fit OK. No leaks. Last time I did the rear, I bought a MK2 (UK) rear one and cut it. Too short... This time I bought a MK1 rear one (UK made) from MiniKing. I still had to cut it about 50mm. ![]() There was no way it was going to fit otherwise. We tried for about 2 hours. I may as well have bought it by the metre from Grippy Rubber or somewhere. |

![]() Interesting, I just bought a UK Mk1 windscreen rubber from Mini Spares, and it fit perfectly. |

My mate 4myego bought the same rear one I did from Mini King, his fitted OK. And, he helped fit mine, what a bastard job it was. He agrees... Note- my rear window aperture has a slight twist, the result of a rear shunt some time in the distant past. I have heard of others having to cut UK Mk1 rear rubbers. The length must be inconsistent before they glue em together. |
