I'm stuck on weather to go for old school look with the classic cobra or more racy with the new cobra I like both and can't decide!!!

OK after going through Huddersfield spares i've found a couple of options...

go aftermarket. Kills access to the back, but OMG so comfortable.

:D

I have a cobra highback sports seat in my Mini and its perfect.

I had a Cobra Trophy high back race seat in mine.
Problems:
1. Can't reach around and flick the rear window catch open on a hot day.
2. The inertia reel lapsash belt wore through the cloth covering on RH side.
3. No access to rear seat.
4. Very little padding, but it wasn't too bad in a hydro car.

So I sold it to gadgets and bought a pair of Cobra Classics off brickworx. :P

Any opinions on the "tombstone" style original seats? I have some sitting on a shelf while I rebuild, wondering whether to keep them...

hey doc, i'm really liking the look of the cobra buckets . . . Are they comfy?i'm just worried about the angle of the seat i like to have mine back a bit i hate sitting straight up. . . Another reason why i'm looking at aftermarket buckets. . .

I had to cut the front legs shorter so I could get them a bit straighter, and still tilt them. Otherwise I was leaning forward in the seats.

I also have and love the Cobra Classics. They are very comfy and with the right mounts they sit perfectly.

Yeah, go Cobra Classics low back. I've got them in my van but in all red vinyl and, like Doc, had to cut the legs at the front to tilt them forward a bit.

I've also got a pair of these in my SD1 but in black cloth with head rests.

They are very comfortable and really hold you in. Only issue is getting in and out over the high sides can be a bit of an effort at times, but it's well worth it.

Best of all, they're super lightweight.

I used late model rover seats..

works a treat & the are kinda like bucket seats hold you in nice..

i'm sure there are few rover seats around for sure. they are the right kinda seat and give rear access.

If you are talking Cobra Classics, mine came with the Cobra rails/frames. The front of them mount in the standard brackets.
These are the early frames though, the back has 2 rubber capped posts that sit on the floor.

I got mine from Min Sport UK. Just under $800 landed for two seats and two subframes. That included postage of UKP150. That was a while back now when the Aussie $ was not so strong.
