finally picked up the mini tonight!

Not too many dramas! lol is there ever NOT a drama when it comes to life with a mini??? Well a week later than it was supposed to be ready got the call today to come get it! Followed 30mins later by a call saying that my petrol tank has a rust hole and is leaking fuel, so had to grab a tank on the way to collect!

So it is finally home and now needs a month to 'toughen up' before having its 12 coats of paint heavy polished to bring it up like glass!

I will post so snaps tomorrow of it looking a little silly with little skinny wheels!

12?

Crap, i only put 12 around the edges, seams and gutters, 8 everywhere else. Still it went on thick.

Sounds good Gareth, enjoy the drying time cos you got a looooooooottttt of wet rubbing, compounding and polishing, but with that thickness of paint it will come up so good people will think it has clear creating the depth 8)

 don't worry,, I normally only do 5 if its just a runabout

12 is good cos you can really flatten it out, on those jobs sometimes I start with 800 grit and work down to 2000.... it comes up flatter than flat,,, I mean go get your crockered spirit level cos I just figured out how to calibrate it

8's plenty, I think I have seen your clubby,, blue? isn't it? with the factory flares? it looked pretty good to me :)

Well here is the almost/kinda/unfinished'ish car! Here is a little taster of the journey so far! So let me know your thoughts~!?

The car as i got it, looking a bit sorry for itself not as sorry as most but a little unloved!

As it was for the bay to birdwood 'incarnation'

Now all sparkly with a sporty look! Unfortunatley the light is also a bit crap!

8) Very nice Gareth, our 'first' mini was a 76 Clubby S also in AM Eye Blue, making me very emotional right about now... Can't wait to see it in the flesh!

VERY nice 8)

Looking smart there, nice gloss :D

As Dave said, keen to see it in action. It might have missed the mill, but a good result is worth waiting for.
