Ok Iv'e been looking into getting a front cut from japan. I have been quoted $3000 for a 94 model or younger. It seems like a cheep way of going considering you get a roughly 50k km motor Fuel injection, aircon and disk brakes in the assembly. Seeing as Scooby is a 68 deluxe will the new motor fit or are they different mountings subframes etc? Anybody have any experience or knowlege about this? |

I was/might be doing the same thing as what you have planned. The engine will fit, with no modifications to the body or subframe except a couple of extra mounting holes, or so I've been told. You might want to bear in mind that as far as we know, Brickworx in SA is the only person with the computer to work on those engines, if that means anything to you. |

But these engines do pretty much look after themselves.. like most efi engines. |

I am assuming that they would stay in tune pretty well...as most efi cars do. If you want to POWER TUNE them, I guess Brickworx would be able to assist. That's my guess. If I had the cash, I would go that way! |

OK I'll keep you posted then on how I go. It really does seem like the way to go - modern full synch g/box too. Do the jap cars have the 8.4'' disks? Getting Excited! - looks like its time to sell the Merc! Cheers Gig |

That's one thing to do with the leftover shell. Here's some others: -Make a mini bbq -Make a mini armchair -Turn it into a fridge -Make a trailer out of it to confuse the crap out of people on the road. -Stick it on that old clubby -Fix it to the back shed wall and tell people you weren't bothered to move it when the shed was built. -Get an old clapped out, but still running engine, fit into the front along with seat, fuel tank, battery and a jockey wheel and go for a 3 wheeled hoon. |

Ah yes! love it. I've got a front cut. I reckon i'll turn the shell into a bbq. Its a 1996 Cooper shell. So yeah, its in good nick
