Is it possible to change the barrel in a clubby ignition? If so how ? My other question is how does the whole ign setup come off the steering column, there are 4 plugs in the ign
that look like they need to be drilled out to remove it off the column, is this right ?

those plugs are called shear bolts, when they get to their torque limit the bolt head shears off leaving a plug lookin thing behind, makes it harder for crooks to frig with your steering lock but makes it a complete bastard to remove them when you need to, I used a small cold chisel and smacked a groove in the plug ends then undid em with a screwdriver, the cold chisel tends to loosen em up a bit too.
Im pretty sure you can remove the barrel via a small hole in the housing but i think its gotta be in a certain position to work( usually a position you cant get to without the keys) but dont quote me on that, its been awhile :D

yeah those snap bolts do come out pretty easy. i drilled them the tapped in a torques bit and they came out pretty easy.

Best and easiest way is to change the whole lock housing over ie the two halves you get from removing the snap bolts! Alot easier and less likely to damage the barrel you have if already in a housing!

Ps. i have one i could sell... lol

Yeah thanks people , keep the suggestions coming, thing is i have a mate that has a clubby ign in his roundie and it appears that it has shat itself, i have 2 ign switches still on columns here that i acquired in amongst a heap of gear that i was given but they don't have any keys with them , if we can find out how to change the barrel over it might save him some time and money to see whether it fixes the problem or not.
