I used to crank the last one to 8000 on the track, but with the new 1360 I'll try and stop myself at 7500... 8)
But it's got an S crank & rods and a full balance job..

No use revving mine over 5000, it goes nowhere after that! at 4500 is about time to change gears in case the people behind me complain about the smoke from unburnt fuel

Yeah it probably would but no point. Power passes peak above 7000 anyhow.

Mine red lines at 19,800. But only go to 18,900 to improve reliability.

I don't go past 4500. Simple as that.

In the 1960s Honda was well known for its racing motorcycles that reved to 18,000 or more. What was not well known was that Honda was fiddling the tacho drives so that the tacho was showing very high.
The other teams thought that Honda was winning because of high revs and tried to build motors that would rev the same.

No tacho in "The Heinz" at the moment but I think that it would be doing about 5000 to 7000 rpm at full throttle (That is full speed, off the speedo [90mph]) When I get the tacho in I will let people know.
